Mkhitarishen
From Janapar
Mkhitarishen (Մխիթարիշեն) is a village located in Askeran Region. Below the village, at the bottom of the canyon are the ruins of Hunot village with an old stone bridge, a waterfall, sheer cliffs, caves and the trail leads on to Karintak. In the cliffs can be found the caves of Hunoti Karan, Avana Karan, Alexana Ghuzun, Yeghuniki Karan and Ameratner. In Hunot cave at first for a long time stayed Avan Yuzbashi, whose name Aghvan's Yesayi catholicos always remembers with praise. Then during the 1826 Russo-Turkish war the cave was inhabited by Tarkhanian Sapar Yuzbashi with his men who constantly took flour up to Shushi, saving it from starvation.
